Kathryn McNitt RN, BSN

Owner, Perinatal Training Services

Kathryn comes from a family of nurses. Grandma was a nurse in the 20's and 30's and, the stories she told of the "way we used to do things"; such as patching and powdering latex gloves, washing and rolling bandages, sharpening hypodermic needles for reuse and so on; she loved her job and instilled that love of nursing into Kathryn. It was not until Kathryn was well past 3 babies that she went back to school to get her Nursing degree. After graduating from the Napa College ADN Nursing program she transferred to Sonoma State University where she earned her Bachelors Degree in Nursing.

Kathryn's years of experience both in the Mother Baby Unit, L & D and in the NICU offers many opportunities for advanced training. A past Instructor for the American Red Cross and for the American Heart Association; a Regional Trainer for the Neonatal Resuscitation Program and Lead Instructor for The S.T.A.B.L.E. Program. Kathryn's stress free learning/teaching style has students coming back again and again.

Kathryn's experiences have allowed her to be a leader among nurses, offering learning opportunities for new staff, patients and the community. By maintaining high standards, accuracy and the ability to engage the learner; patients and staff both come out winners.
